Day 6

Emily - With the end of a semester approaching and exams in only a few weeks, my work load is slowly growing. I have final projects and big tests coming up and my planner is becoming more full with events and projects. Here come two big weeks of work. yay

Jeanine - this is my interpretation of the Leonard Cohen quote...
"Everything has cracks in it.  It's how the light gets in."

I called it "All It's Cracked Up to Be."

I work in the Criminal Justice System.  Even with all it's flaws, it is a place that sheds light on injustice, inequality, poverty, addictions and mental health issues (to name only a few).  I am proud to be a part of it.

Day 5 (only 360 to go!)

Jeanine - My task today was to photograph something intended for daily use (emphasis on intended!).  I passed over the coffee maker and the unmade bed and chose my treadmill.  Tried to see the robot face of the dashboard with it's arms outstretched welcoming me back...again.  Gonna follow through on this intention.  Gotta say I am loving the online photography class.  I knew I would need the prompts to kickstart me on the blog.  Hope I can keep up the creativity when the month long class is over.  Fingers crossed.

Emily - Today I start my new show with original kids (a kids theatre program). I'm doing The Drowsy Chaperone and today we will be doing auditions. I'm kind of scared but I think I'll pretty good, especially the dance audition. I danced for 9 years but stopped 2 years ago. I still love to but it just became to competitive for me. I love to dance and always will.

Day 4

Jeanine - my assignment today was to find a little sunshine.  However, grey skies and snow covered the sun here today, so I bought me some sunshine ... flowers to brighten my day.  I called this one Sun In The Sky (see above).


Emily - Today, my mother had an assignment from her photo class she's been taking. I was cleaning my bathroom (bleh) and took a break to see what she was doing. She was taking pictures of flowers for her class (see Jeanine's segment for the assignment) and this is what I took as I tried to show my mom how to take a real photo (I think I did pretty good : )

Day 3

Emily - Nothing very exciting happened today. It's day three and I'm already struggling with this :p So I thought I'd take a picture of something very normal to me, the city bus. I take it to school most mornings and after school. I miss it a lot (mostly after school) and have to wait for the next one that takes almost 30 minutes. And you see some strange people. One of the people (He's on the left at the back) has his snowboard, and someone behind me was using their laptop. I think that i should get rides to school. But, oh well.... :(

Jeanine - today's challenge was to be on the lookout for something that speaks of promise or possibility - something hopeful, touching, soul stirring - something that reminds us that anything is possible and we have everything to hope for.  I chose the hour glass because as I head back to work tomorrow and face the hectic pace again, I want to remember to use the time I've been given to turn the possibilities into realities.  I am going to make the time to achieve my dreams and spend time with the people I love.  I hope I can find the time to take that photo every day too!!!

Day 2

Jeanine - this month I am participating in an on-line photography class called Picture Winter through www.bigpictureclasses.com.  I thought it might be good to have some help coming up with ideas for photos as we kickstart this blog adventure so I signed up.  Today's prompt was to get a little fresh air...to get outside and take a shot.  It took me all day to coax myself out, but when I finally did I caught the first street light going on in my neighbourhood.  I called this one Twilight.

Emily- This is my awesome! Beatles rockband high score! It's a little fuzzy but you can still tell i kicked but with an awesome 208 note streak. I've been pretty obsessed over the winter break with this game. I totally recommend it to anyone. It's a better rockband than 1 or 2 because most people actually know the songs. Why can't the come out with a best of pop rockband?

Day 1

Jeanine - Happy New Year!  We celebrated with our annual Open House Today.  Lots of friends, food and fun.  This is hanging on the door into our dining room during the holidays.  Maybe we should keep it up all year to remind us to celebrate the little things each day and to be grateful.
I am excited to start this blog today.  I wonder if we can keep it up all year?  To motivate us we have decided to reward ourselves with brand new cameras at the half way mark if we have been faithful every day...so I really hope we can do this!!!!  Here we go...


Emily- Today, we had a New Years Open House I didn't have to set up much because I stayed over at a friends for New Years Eve and showed up an hour before the party started. But I did come home to find my room used as the temporary storage unit. I could barely make it to my bed. This photo doesn't do justice to the very little amount of walking room. At one point I had to climb over the chairs to get to my closet.
