Day 124

Emily - After school today I raced my friend to the bus as it was about to leave.... not so smartly did I run through the wet and muddy grass and got mud all along my pant leg. Good job Emily.














Jeanine - "Waves of Happiness"

Tonight we had the pleasure of attending the retirement gala for The Honourable Justice Deborah Livingstone.  The invitation read, in part, "Retirement is like waves of happiness followed by splashes of peace."  This cake reflects that thought.  It was a wonderful evening for a wonderful woman and judge.  She really is Superwoman!  She is a mentor and a friend to me so tonight I felt waves of sadness as I listened to all the speakers (including Ian) and as I thought about life in the criminal courts without her.  It will not be the same.  I am not the same for having known her.  I am better for it.  We all are.

PS - the instamatic camera was a big hit at the party!  I heard "I didn't know they still made those" a lot.  Gave the photos away as I took them.  Very fun!!
